Wii U games already making their way to customers

first_imgAlthough they are effectively useless to the average consumer for a few more days, some Wii U games will be officially released before the Wii U console itself. And for some customers — notably those who purchased Call of Duty: Black Ops II from Amazon — the games are already starting to arrive. Pictures have popped up of eager Nintendo fans with the coveted blue box in their possession. Of course, there isn’t much to do except marvel at it.In fact, there are several Wii U titles that have a release date listed as earlier than the Wii U’s November 18 launch. Just Dance 4, Madden 13, Rabbids Lands, and FIFA 13 all have November 13 release dates. Nintendo’s shipments of the Wii U have already been sent out to retailers, but they are locked away in storage rooms until the clock strikes midnight on November 18.For previous console launches, stores would often receive launch games well in advance of the shipment of systems as well, and publishers would just slate their release date as the console release date. That was just common sense. Of course, eventually everyone started realizing that common sense goes out the window when it comes to fans and their video game affections. As a result, this new trend began of selling those early games just so gamers could get their hands on them and start dreaming about the day when they can be played.Regardless, the Wii U waiting game is now in the final stretch. Things are really heating up now. When you add the November 13 titles, the system will have 22 games already in its arsenal.via Joystiqlast_img
